Music Editing Examples for Figure Skating:
This is an example of cuts, short crossfades and a pause. Cuts and short crossfades are usually used when cutting up and/or reordering a song. Here they were also used to extend the piano decay at the end of the first clip. Pauses can be used to transition between non-similar music or for dramatic effect. This piece contains a pause between the second and third clips, with a little reverb and delay added to the gap.

This example shows how pitch and speed can be independently adjusted. The first clip begins with pitch at -2 semitones, changes to normal and then to +2 semitones. The second clip begins with speed set to 85%, changes to normal and then to 115%.

This example shows how adjusting pitch and speed can be used to help clips work better together. The first two clips do not have matching tempos or keys. The tempos and keys in the last two clips have been adjusted so they match.

This last example shows how different kinds of processing can be applied to music to give it a new feel. The second clip had it's pitch and scale changed and some reverb added. The drum loop was processed with equalization, compression and distortion for a lo-fi sound.
